Remedial Massage Therapy is a combination of deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, muscular energy technique, soft tissue release, kinesiology taping and ultrasound. The treatment is deeper than a Swedish massage and involves firmer and more precise pressure. The massage is more intense than a Swedish massage, but I will ensure that we work together by using a pressure scale to ensure that you remain within your comfort zone. These treatments are particularly good for:

 

• Muscle relaxation by giving the areas of soreness more oxygen and nutrients than they previously had.

• Helping reduce inflammation.

• Increasing range of movement and easing muscular pain.

 

At times during the treatment it can be slightly painful but the results of muscular relief can be instant. For others it may take more than one session to reverse the damage within the muscles. After the treatment you can feel as though you have been to the gym for a workout. This is perfectly normal and will take a few days for your body to repair and heal correctly. It is during this time that you must remain hydrated stretch and allow your body to recover.
